The Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection is inspired by the famous adventure novel by Jules Verne. The Classique fountain pen in anthracite precious resin evokes the second part of the journey, from Bombay to Yokohama. In this part of the adventure, the main characters travel on the back of a majestic elephant, depicted in a cartouche on the cap. The gold-plated metal cap is decorated with an engraved motif that symbolises good luck. The clip is decorated with a red lacquered tile, while the cone is engraved with a motif inspired by Princess Aouda’s jewellery and the suits of playing cards that represent Mr Fogg’s bet to travel around the world in 80 days. The length of the journey is embossed on the top of the cap, namely 80 days, 25 of which are from Bombay to Yokohama. The writing instrument features a hand-crafted 18K gold nib decorated with a hot air balloon and the dates “20/10” and “14/11”: Mr Fogg leaves Bombay at 8:00 p.m. on October 20, then departs Yokohama at 6:00 p.m. on November 14.
